Without a doubt, Discover credit cards are one of the more popular types that are offered to consumers today. There is a variety available for those who have a perfect credit rating to those who may not have very good credit. They also have cards that offer incentives to shoppers who transfer balances, for people who want to earn cash rewards and even credit cards for students.

The rates will vary depending upon which type of card meets your needs. The ones that offer incentives work similarly to other credit cards that offer incentives as well. The typical reduced or 0% interest rate is charged for a period of time after which the rate will go back to the regular interest rates.

They also offer balance transfers that work on the same premise.

I recently got an email from Amy asking for some suggestions about getting a new credit card/s based on her needs. We exchanged a few emails. And after pondering over it for a while, here are my thoughts.

Hi Mr. Credit Card,

I’ve been reading your site off and on for about 4 months now. I think I’m going through what you went through when you started this website. Thank you for doing so! It has been a great help to me and I’m sure to many others.

So, on to my conundrum. I currently have 3 credit cards: 1) Nordstrom Platinum Select Visa (am very happy & am an often shopper); 2) Citibank Driver’s Edge card (moderately happy – 20k miles on my car a year so lots of gas); 3) Premier Pass (not sure if I’m happy or not)

I pay in full every month and am not a big fan of annual fees but would pay it if I thought the card was worth it. (I have a d

When you are ready to do credit cards comparison to find the card that is right for you what are you going to be considering? For one, the APR or Annual Percentage Rate is an aspect that needs to be considered.

This can often be 0% for those who transfer a balance from another card and keep their payments paid on time. The time will vary for the 0% APR but it can be from 3 months to 18 months, depending upon the credit card company.

If you carry a balance as most people do, the rates will be higher for some companies than others. A credit cards comparison which allows researching and comparing these rates can often allow you to get a much lower APR. The idea that you can get some of your money back on those purchases you make simply by using your credit card may sound appealing and it can be if you have the ability to pay those purchases off each month rather than carrying the charges over and paying interest on your card. Here are the basics of how cash reward credit cards work.

Cash back credit cards usually offer you a cash back on purchases made using their card. However, these cards charge high interest rates so if you have to carry a balance over month to month you are probably paying more in interest than you are getting cash back.

When most people, especially new to the world of credit cards see the term “instant decision credit cards” they rush to apply thinking that if they are approved they will be able to begin using their credit card immediately. This is simply not the case.

While some retail stores may actually offer instant approval and instant credit to shoppers in order to increase sales, most banks and credit card companies may approve your credit instantly if you have an excellent credit report but, you won’t be using that new credit card much faster than any other one since it will be sent by regular mail after they have again reviewed your credit history.

Do You Really Know Instantly If Your Credit Is Approved

Many times people will apply for Instant decision credit cards simply because they don’t want to wait to see if they are approved. However

When it comes to card offers, cash back credit cards are just one form of rewards systems designed to entice consumers to accepting a credit line. This bonus appeals to many people because they believe they are saving on their credit card bill by earning some of their purchase price back. However, it is important that you consider whether this type of credit card would actually benefit you and your wallet.

It is important to keep in mind that you will not earn a ton of money back with cash back credit cards. They work on a percentage, typically ranging from 1% to 5% of your qualifying purchases.

Therefore, if you spend $1000 on your card in a given month, you could earn back $10-$50, depending on how well the incentive pays. Unless you make several large purchases each month, you should be aware that the perk is not a very beneficial one.

However, there are business credit cards that offer cash back awards.
